| Valencia is an easy 1 hour drive from Cumbre del Sol and is the up-and-coming city in Spain (having been voted the best Spanish city to live in for the 2 years running). Valencia is an intriguing mixture of the old and new, whether you spend an afternoon strolling around the Mercat district of the old town or visit the futuristic Cuidad de las Artes y las Ciencias (CAC) there is always something different to occupy you. The local football club Valencia FC plays in the Spanish Primeria Liga and can be visited or with a bit of forward planning a game can be attended.
The old town has built up around the old trading areas this contains many small streets housing wonderful old cafes where an hour or two can be spent sipping coffee or eating tapas. Buildings such as the UNESCO world heritage site La Lonja or El Mercat or squares such as the Plaza de la Virgen are worth visiting. The river Turia has been diverted to run around the city and the old route of the river is now a garden which can be walked through or used to reach the various landmarks.

| The Cuidad de las Artes y las Ciencias (CAC) is a modern complex including a theatre, IMAX cinema and aquarium. A variety of tickets can be purchased to allow entry to all or just part of the complex, whichever you choose to purchase it is easy to spend a day taking in all there is to see here.
